Scott Shine, JD, is global general counsel and chief compliance officer, responsible for the management of the global legal and compliance teams and all corporate legal, regulatory, litigation and compliance matters impacting the organization. Prior to his current role, Scott was head of US legal for Aegon USA Investment Management, LLC and Aegon USA Realty Advisors, LLC and before that served as the Head of Legal for Aegon Asset Management UK. Prior to joining Aegon AM, Scott was an associate with Carlton Fields Jorden Burt law firm in Washington, DC, where he advised insurance companies, investment advisers, private equity firms, and broker-dealers on regulatory and transactional matters. Scott has been in the industry since 2009 and started with Aegon in 2016. He received his BA in finance from the University of Washington and his JD from The Catholic University of America.
