Gerard Moerman

Head of Liquid Assets, Continental Europe

Gerard Moerman, PhD, is head of liquid assets for continental Europe and a member of the global asset allocation committee. The liquid assets domain covers fixed income (including LDI), multi-assets, client implementation and central dealing. Within the team, Gerard is also head of fixed income. Prior to his current role, he headed the fiduciary services & investment solutions team focusing on balance sheet related topics. Prior still, he was seconded to La Banque Postale Asset Management, a partner of Aegon AM, where he was head of investment solutions from 2016 to 2018. Gerard has been in the industry since 1999 and joined the firm in 2005. He holds a master’s degree in econometrics and a PhD in finance, both from Erasmus University Rotterdam. Whilst studying for his PhD, he worked for the European Central Bank as an economist. Gerard has been a member of the CFA ALM Committee since 2019 and he chaired the DUFAS Sustainability Committee from 2021 until 2023.
