Miranda Beacham appointed Chair of the Investment Association Stewardship Committee

We’re delighted to announce that Miranda Beacham, our UK Head of Responsible Investment, has been appointed as Chair of the Investment Association (IA) Stewardship Committee, a significant role that reinforces our commitment to responsible investment and active ownership.

The Stewardship Committee plays a vital role in shaping industry policy on matters that impact IA members’ stewardship activities and responsibilities. This includes providing input on consultations and developing guidance on topics such as, corporate governance, audit and executive remuneration, share capital management and other regulatory and market issues.

Miranda Beacham, UK Head of Responsible Investment at Aegon AM said: “I’m honoured to take on this role and look forward to working with colleagues across the industry to strengthen stewardship practices. By shaping policy and promoting best standards, we can help ensure that investors’ responsibilities are met in a way that delivers long-term value for clients and supports well-functioning markets.”

Aegon AM Global CIO, Stephen Jones, also joins the IA Investment Committee. This Committee provides strategic oversight on matters relevant to IA members as investors and users of capital markets, supporting efficient market functioning across asset classes for the benefit of clients.

These appointments complement Aegon AM’s broader engagement with the IA, including our UK CEO, Kirstie MacGillivray’s role on the IA Board, and demonstrates how we are taking our responsibilities as an active manager seriously – both in practice and at policy level – to promote the best interests of our clients.
