Bio

Bas NieuweWeme is the chief executive officer of Aegon Asset Management and a member of the Aegon Ltd. Executive Committee. He serves on the advisory council of the Diversity Project Europe (DPE) an, initiative championing a truly diverse, equitable and inclusive asset management industry. He is a member of the Leadership Council of AmeriCares, a health focused relief and development not-for-profit organization and a member of the board of directors of the Netherlands-America Foundation. Bas also serves as the vice chairman of the Supervisory Board of La Banque Postal Asset Management (LBPAM)and as a member of the board of directors of Aegon Industrial Fund Management Company Limited (AIFMC), a Chinese fund management company. He worked for ING Investment Management Americas from 2000 to 2013, holding several management positions, from US head of distribution to global head of the client group and member of the management committee. In 2013, following an IPO of ING’s US businesses, Bas was appointed global head of the client group and member of the management committee of VOYA Investment Management. In 2016, Bas joined PGIM as a managing director and has held the position of global head of the client advisory group for PGIM Fixed Income and global head of the institutional relationship group at PGIM. Bas has been in the industry since 2000 bringing 25 years of experience in international finance and investment management and joined the firm in 2019. He holds a law degree from the University of Amsterdam School of Law with a specialization in tax law and an Executive MBA from the New York University Stern School of Business.
