Aegon AM High Yield strategy scoops Fund Manager of the Year Award

The Aegon High Yield Bond Fund won in the ‘High Yield’ category at the Fund Manager of the Year Awards 2024, announced at a ceremony in London on 20 June.

Constructed using performance data from Morningstar, the Fund Manager of the Year Award winners are decided by a panel of over 50 fund selectors drawn from across the investment industry. The Aegon High Yield Bond Fund scooped the High Yield prize in a highly-contested category comprising eight other shortlisted funds.

Managed by Thomas Hanson and Mark Benbow, the Aegon High Yield Bond Fund takes a high-conviction bottom-up approach to unlocking value across global high yield markets. The index-agnostic fund aims to generate long-term outperformance by exploiting inefficiencies in the market across issuers, sectors and geographies.

Commenting on the Award, Thomas Hanson, Head of Europe High Yield, said: “We strive to deliver consistent performance for our clients through our differentiated investment philosophy, and it’s heartening to accept a landmark industry award that recognises our success in achieving this.”

Investment Manager Mark Benbow added: “The Fund Manager of the Year Awards celebrate the best of the industry and we are very pleased to accept the accolade - especially in such a competitive category.”
